Police say the victims were attacked in what appear to be two separate stabbings just blocks apart before officers arrested 51-year-old Raul Morales.
Investigators are now looking into whether the attacks should be classified as hate crimes.

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch noted that while Morales doesn't have a known mental health history with police, "the initial investigation suggests that mental health may have been a factor."

I will say this: Governor Hochul did remind everyone that New York's strength is "our ability to live together across every faith and background." So at least that's something. π
