A maintenance worker in Illinois ended up stuck on the inside of a truck stop sign 130 feet in the air after his lift malfunctioned.

So, his lift broke and the man was left stranded inside the sign for five hours waiting for rescue.

ABC 7 says their chopper arrived at the scene at about 3:30 p.m. The man had already been up there since a little after 11:00 a.m., so 4 hours at that point.

There was a huge police response, and a crane was seen being brought in.

The man could be seen inside the sign. He even gave Chopper 7 a 'thumbs up.'

The man appeared to be in good spirits.

Just before 4 p.m., the man was seen getting into the crane basket and slowly brought down to the ground.

He was then placed into a Wilmington Fire Department ambulance.

The worker said he was okay after the incident and that he didn't want or need any medical treatment.
