Amazon is notorious for sketchy, sometimes previously used items being delivered as if they are new.

Sometimes you can deal with that, or send it back for a replacement.

But what if you order a decorative urn?

That's what happened to Ashleigh Wegner when she ordered a keepsake urn for her grandmother's ashes.

According to WCSC,

Wegner said her mother and uncles chose an urn for Kuspis, and the family also set aside a small portion of cremated remains for close relatives.

According to Wegner, they decided to purchase a small keepsake urn, a brass heart, from Amazon.

‘It came within a couple of days,‘ Wegner said. ‘When I opened it, it was just a little dusty.'

When she opened it, she found the urn already occupied.

The really worrying part is that this isn't even a unique experience. Just a month ago, a San Bernardino woman had the same thing happen to her:

Heck, it's not even the first time Ashleigh Wegner has had to deal with some stranger's ashes:

‘We've had a similar past situation,' she said. ‘A few years back, my husband and I came across a box of ashes in an alleyway where we lived.'

She said they turned those remains over to the sheriff's office, which located the family.

‘They said they weren't interested, or for whatever reason, they just didn't want the remains,' Wegner said.

Wegner said she and her husband then spread those ashes in the Arizona mountains.

Wegner says she's going to do the same thing for whoever's ashes are in the Amazon urn, so they don't end up back in circulation.

Amazon went ahead and sent her a replacement urn, presumably vacant this time.
