Sometimes being a nice guy can come back to bite you.
Oof.
That's tough to watch. Here's more on the tragedy from The Yorkshire Post:
The red-faced driver was forced to abandon his luxury SUV when the rescue mission backfired on Scarborough beach.
…
But after multiple failed attempts shortly after 6pm last Friday (Jun 19), the 4x4 - which even has a sand driving mode - got stuck too.
Baffled onlookers watched as the men rejected help from locals before both vehicles were eventually completely submerged.
Witnesses stayed to watch and video the spectacle after reportedly being rebuffed when offering help.
"One of the guys was trying to dig the front wheels out with a spade. Then the Range Rover came on with the idea to pull the van out. Which obviously didn't go very well. Some local people did go down and give them some advice to try and use the jet skis to get it out the sand, but they were quite rude to him and give him the impression that they knew what they were doing and told them to leave them alone."
Sure thing, guys. We'll leave you alone … and watch your fancy vehicle drift off into the sea.
Both vehicles were later pulled out of the water.
What's the Kelley Blue Book value on a previously submerged Range Rover, anyway?
