B-A-S-E-D.
What's left out of the headline, of course, is that Mohamed Hussein is part of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which Governor Greg Abbott designated as a terrorist organization.
He really thought he could waltz into the Texas Republican convention as a member of this terror group and find acceptance.
Here's what one of the speakers at the convention said, which alarmed Hussein:
On Saturday, the last day of the convention, Hussein attended a panel from the Judeo-Christian Caucus moderated by Dr. Rick Scarborough, a former Southern Baptist pastor and the president of Recover America, an organization to engage ministers and pastors in politics.
Speakers told the audience that immigrants who don't believe in Judeo-Christian values will erode those values and create problems for America. Scarborough accused Muslims of lying to win political power.
'You're going to find Muslims that aren't being antagonistic or mean, at least not publicly. But I'll guarantee, if they get power, they'll cut your head off as believers of Christ,' he said.

Then we get this buncha nonsense from the Texas Tribune in their description of Sharia Law:
Sharia are the lessons of the Prophet Muhammad, interpreted as the framework, or laws, for how Muslims should live their lives which call for fasting, daily prayer, modest dressing and charity.
Praying, modesty, and charity. They forgot the "submit to our god and be conquered, or else you'll be beheaded" part of Sharia.
Hussein, upset, spoke with the pastor who said these hurty wordies.
Following the panel, the two shared contact information. Shortly thereafter, Scarborough approached Hussein.
'What do you want me to do, leave?' Hussein asked Scarborough.
'Yes,' replied the minister.

Oh, and it gets better.
Hussein, sobbing, turned from Scarborough, retreating to some chairs to cry alone. Scarborough followed and sat down next to him. The pastor placed an arm on the back of Hussein's seat, leaning in to console him.
The pastor didn't abandon the man. He spoke the truth, told him to repent, and then spoke words of peace over him.
This is exactly what Christians are called to do. You do not coddle false gods. You love people enough to tell them the truth but offer them a shoulder to cry on.
Scarborough, in an interview with The Texas Tribune, clarified that he thought Hussein should leave the country: 'If you're going to embrace the values and the teachings that you're advocating for, there's no place in America for you. That's not assimilation. That's taking over.'
This may sound cruel, or heartless, or whatever, but it was also the immigration policy of the United States until about 50 years ago.
If you immigrate, you must assimilate and do so as soon as possible. If you don't want to embrace Americanism then you don't need to come to America. Common sense.
Ten years ago, Republicans would have gladly accepted a token Muslim to prove how "inclusive" they are.
Now they stand for America and truth.
What a shift.
