Well, this is almost the worst kind of update we could have to this story.
The alleged lunatic who chucked a 3-year-old kid into a croc enclosure for no discernible reason in a senseless and random attack is already out on bail.
SEPTEMBER!!
A man who threw a kid to crocs is being released back into public for three months because he has been deemed too mentally ill and/or disabled to be interrogated by police.
You really can't make it up.
Here's more details about the attack from The Sun:
Police confirmed today that the man is not fit to be quizzed by officers and he has been bailed until September 18.
The suspect is a 'mentally disabled' man who was on a day trip to Johnsons of Old Hurst zoo near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, and was not known to the boy, locals have said.
He was reportedly with at least two carers but they weren't watching him when the boy was thrown over the 4ft enclosure fence, according to a local.
"Mentally disabled" is rather vague in this case (rumors are that the man may be severely autistic, but that remains a rumor).
One must ask: If he's the kind of "mentally disabled" that hurls toddlers over railings and his caretakers were not watching him, shouldn't said caretakers be responsible for the crime?
Without hesitating, the zoo owner's wife Tracey Johnson, sprinted to the enclosure and leapt over the fence to heroically save the boy from further harm.
Here's a picture:
The child's injuries include a broken pelvis and arm from the 15-foot fall into the pit.
What do you think the chances are that this guy gets off scot free?
