It looked like today was going to be the day.

After all that effort to bomb the Iranian regime into dust, Trump finally got the remnants of its leadership to agree to terms with him.

Vice President JD Vance was set to fly to Switzerland on Friday to sign the "peace deal" (AKA Iran's terms of surrender) and allow the oil flow from the Strait of Hormuz to get back to normal.

And then...

(Four Israeli soldiers were also killed.)

The White House has pressured Israel to stop military operations against Iranian-backed forces in Lebanon as it meets with Iranian officials in Pakistan to negotiate a deal.

Even after the president of Pakistan announced a deal had been reached, however, Israel has continued to resist.

Axios reported that Israel does not consider itself to be bound to the terms of the temporary agreement, and to be fair, they didn't actually sign anything.

Vance pushed back against the Axios report, but he had words of warning for Israeli leadership on Thursday during a press conference at the White House.

While Israel may not have signed the temporary agreement, it is straining an increasingly tumultuous relationship with its only major ally (us) by undermining Trump's plan. 👇

In a New York Times interview published on Thursday, Vance also told Israel, "You can't just kill your way out of solving every single national security problem that you have."

Trump, meanwhile, had this to say in a new interview with Axios:

On Tuesday at the G7 Summit in France, Trump also criticized Israel for its ongoing operations in Lebanon, saying it was taking "too long and too many people are killed."

As of Thursday night, Vance's travel plans to Switzerland have been canceled and the official signing ceremony has been delayed.

Still, as a silver lining, a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah was announced Friday morning. An unnamed U.S. official who spoke to Reuters said that Qatar had worked out an agreement between the two and hostilities would cease for the time being.

Also, it looks like oil is beginning to flow again through the Strait of Hormuz. 👇

As long as no missiles start flying, we might at least get relief at the pump?

What a mess!
