Someone needs to get their eyesight (and brain) checked.

I imagine the concerned citizen in this case was the same kind of older woman that constantly posts, "Was that a gunshot??" to local Facebook groups.

There's not much else on this story at the moment, but perhaps this local report from March 20th is why Edith/Gertrude was so on edge:

Two guys who use magnets to find junk underwater discovered a 1980s Derringer pistol inside a latched case at the bottom of the Taunton River in Bridgewater.

The local paper noted that men have found other weapons in neighboring towns, including a bazooka.

Between the two of them, they've uncovered a bazooka in Needham, two shopping carts in Lynn, a 1960s parking meter in Waltham and most recently — a mysterious firearm in Bridgewater that's caught the attention of local police.

I can only imagine the terrifying thoughts Gretchen/Edna must have had as she looked out the window, remembering this story, as she saw a scary man in a camouflage-print T-shirt and a nondescript tubular object in his arms.

Was this the bazooka man?? Had he come to finish the job?!

Hopefully, Bridgewater Police made sure this caller was alright ... and banned them from calling the department ever again.
