Remember 2024, when Jews coming out of tunnels in New York went viral?

Yeah, well, now there are big groups of random men (NOT Jews) who have been spotted entering and exiting the sewers at all times of day.

From NBC News:

Social media posts appear to show groups of men, not affiliated with any public works crews, climbing out of manholes in various Brooklyn neighborhoods last week.

There haven't been any immediate arrests in the apparent trespassing incidents.

Police are pursuing their leading theory that the group is 'scouring the system for valuables that get into the sewage,' a senior law enforcement official told NBC News.

An alternate theory is that gangs are searching for the hideout of their most notorious foes:

NYPD tells us they "sent their highly trained Emergency Services Unit officers into the sewer system to make sure nothing nefarious had been left behind by the individuals." Nothing was found by either NYPD or the Environmental Protection Department, which also investigated the sewers.

Another video shows a man casually lifting a manhole cover around 2 a.m. so seven other dudes could climb out. They were decked out in coveralls and headlamps and quickly changed clothes and vanished into the night.

NYC says there is "no threat to the public."

Maybe they've come in contact with the mutants of Old New York, and one of the guys has fallen in love with a one-eyed mutant girl!
