After a spate of thefts carried out by hungry seagulls, the Sydney Opera Bar has come up with a genius solution: Hiring dogs to chase those thieving rats with wings.

The restaurant hired dog trainer James Webb to develop a training program to turn farm dogs, traditionally used as sheep dogs, into seagull-chasing dogs.
Thus far, his program has been a very entertaining success.

The dogs get the fun experience of chasing the birds, while the diners get dinner and a show. It's a win-win!
The "Seagull Patrol," as the program is called, has grown to 35 dogs working at five different locations. The dogs work one four-hour shift per week, which is presumably well below the dog labor laws in Australia.
Tanya Lambert, who works at the Sydney Fish Market, told The Washington Post,
There was skepticism about whether they would be successful or a gimmick. Since we've had the dogs, the feedback from everybody is tremendous.
Gimmicks can be tremendous, but so can eating your meat pies in peace.
