Pulte, a 38-year-old private equity guy and grandson of legendary homebuilder William Pulte, has been running the agency that backs trillions in mortgages. Trump praised him for having "deep experience managing the most sensitive matters in America," pointing to his work chairing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
