Your doggo is not going to protect you against a 600-pound grizzly.
He will just be the snack before the main course (you).

I think my heart stopped there for a moment.
This apparently happened recently at a campground in Canada.
Again, there's a simple tool - a very simple solution, really - that takes care of this problem.
God didn't give us long claws and teeth that can rip flesh from bones. He didn't give us thick fur and tons of blubber to protect us from things with long claws and sharp teeth.
We humans are awfully soft and squishy.
What God DID give us is an extremely advanced brain, hands, and bipedal locomotion - and he gave us a spirit made in His image to live in that physical body.
With those assets, we can plan, create, and fine-tune the resources in our world. We can extract metals from deep under the earth, heat them with fire to different shapes, and combine them in new ways to solve problems.
As it turns out, if you take one type of rock (steel) and make a long cylinder, you can take another type of rock (lead) and put it inside. Then you can take a powdery combination of other types of rock (sulfur, charcoal, and potassium nitrate) inside the cylinder too.
If you want those rocks to be in a convenient package, you can even take another type of rock (brass) to hold them all together in a nice little cartridge.

Then - and hear me out - you can point the cylinder with one kind of rock at the giant death machine with claws, apply fire to the powder to make the lead rock go REALLY, REALLY fast toward the death machine.
When this happens, the lead rock will enter the death machine and make all its blood come out before the death machine makes all your blood come out. 🤯

Amazing stuff!
