This dude swam across nearly 100 miles of sea, and I can barely make it to the mailbox without huffing and puffing!

Yes, a Polish man, Bartłomiej Kubkowski, just became the first person in history to swim across this stretch of sea between Sweden and Poland. He started in Kåseberga, Sweden, on Friday and, as you saw above, essentially crawled out of the water in Dziwnów, Poland, on Sunday.

From NFP:

During the crossing, Kubkowski was unable to sleep and, although a support boat accompanied him and provided food and drink, he was not allowed to touch the vessel itself.

This video shows the large crowd waiting for him upon his arrival (skip about three-quarters of the way in if you'd like):

For context, the longest continuous unassisted open-water swim on record is American swimmer Sarah Thomas' 105-mile swim across Lake Champlain in 2017.

This was Kubkowski's fifth — FIFTH! — attempt at this crossing.

Kubkowski raised more than 715,000 zloty ($191,600) for children's cancer treatment with this swim.

I skipped leg day because I was lazy; this guy swam for 56 hours nonstop and raised a bunch of money for children's cancer treatment.

Good on ya, Bartłomiej Kubkowski!
