On Sunday evening, a Sudanese man stabbed an Irishman in the face multiple times, then jumped on top of him and tried to saw through his neck with a pen knife.
On Monday, widespread protests kicked off across the UK as a result.
In Northern Ireland, well ... let's just say it's Northern Ireland.

The Sudanese suspect, Hadi Alodid, is an asylum seeker who came to the country in 2023. His victim was Stephen Ogilvie, a Scot who moved to Belfast several years ago. I will not show you the pictures of Stephen's sliced-up face, because you will never get the image out of your mind.
A city bus, a police car, several private vehicles, and a slew of migrant homes on Lendrick Street were torched and/or vandalized. Riots are expected to continue Wednesday, and many businesses have already sent workers home.
In the interest of changing exactly nothing, the prime minister seized the opportunity to paint his frustrated countrymen as extremists.

Critics said that torching cars, businesses, and homes of immigrants isn't going to force the government to stop mass migration or the oppression of its own people.
And many lives will be ruined in the crossfire:
I will leave you fine ladies and gents to decide if this kind of riot is acceptable, given what is happening in the UK.
But if I might offer a word of advice in this "course of human events," it would be to point that righteous anger in a higher, more productive direction - and to only do so after making an Appeal to Heaven to ensure your cause is just.
Many revolutions against tyranny have caused greater tyranny in the long run ... and yet good men cannot stand by and do nothing.
