The senator from Iowa announced the death of his beloved vacuum, named Beth, on X

I would like to point out that while the vacuum died at 49 years old, Chuck Grassley, at 92, was already in his 40s when the vacuum was made.

Nevertheless, 49 years was a long, full life for a vacuum, and she will be greatly missed in the Grassley household.

(Reminds me of the time the hand-me-down TV finally gave out at my parents' house a few years ago.)

A lot of blue checks on X took the time to send their condolences to the bereaved senator, and The New York Times even honored the late vacuum cleaner with her own obit.

They just don't make 'em like they used to!
