Vikram Digwa was convicted of murder in the killing of Henry Nowak last year, but Nowak's family isn't satisfied with these results.
The police, who cuffed the young man while he bled out, believed the killer's lies about the situation and treated the young victim as if he were a criminal and let him die in custody. They botched the response tremendously, cuffing a white man for "racism" while a Sikh murderer remained free.
Henry's father spoke out about the police response on Monday:

Henry had been stabbed multiple times. And as his chest filled with blood he tried to escape. He was chased, abused, and filmed by Vikram Digwa and others. When police arrived, Henry was lying on the floor, barely able to sit up, and plainly in severe medical distress. With his final words he told officers that he could not breathe. He told them he had been stabbed. In fact, Henry told officers that he could not breathe nine times. He told them he had been stabbed four times. The response from one officer was, ‘I don't think you have, mate.'
Did you hear that? Think about it. Internalize it.
The public needs to see this bodycam footage.
A young Englishman was stabbed, but because the Sikh criminal said the young man had said something racist, the cops mocked the young man as he lay pleading for help.
The police have said they were misled by the murderer and that the scene when they arrived was complex. Unfortunately, it seems to us the truth is much simpler. The police were told by our son himself and by a member of the public who called 9-9-9 that they heard someone shout that they had been stabbed.
But the police did not believe them.
Henry was pulled across the gravel, his hands forced behind his back, and he was placed in handcuffs. Instead of being treated as a dying victim, the police formally arrested him for assault and read him his rights. That was the last thing he heard. Henry did not die with dignity. He did not die with the care he deserved. He lost consciousness before anyone believed him.
Let me be absolutely clear, we hold Vikram Digwa solely and 100% responsible for the brutal murder of our son.
BUT Henry should not have died on the streets of Southampton in police custody. The way he was treated was inhumane and degrading. His murderer, however, was afforded decency. He was believed. He was not handcuffed when arrested. He was not handcuffed when transported to the police station. As far as we understand he was not handcuffed at all ... the contrast is unbearable.
Nowak went on to call for a full and transparent investigation, including into one of the lady cops at the scene who resigned before the story became public.
If you'll recall, the killer was legally allowed to carry a knife because it was part of his Sikh religious guard and considered "ceremonial" even though it was fully functional as a murder weapon.
As for Digwa? Pretty much a slap on the wrist for murder:

He had "good reason" to have an exception to the knife rule because of his minority-religious status.
No life sentence for abusing the privilege; instead, he continues to get special treatment because of his race.
