Look, if you shoot someone in an attempt to murder them, obviously, you should go to prison for a long time. No dispute there.

I'm just saying ... this lady's way of doing it was honestly creative.

Local Fox news reports:

A suspect ... was arrested in North Carolina last month, and it turns out she's the ex-wife of the victim who she allegedly shot 18 times after luring him outside with a fake pizza delivery.

Marquita Marie Rice was arrested on May 26 in Wake County, North Carolina.

She's being held on a $1 million bond after being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence, and is fighting extradition back to Texas.

Marquita Rice (pictured below) does indeed appear to have used a fake pizza ruse to trick her ex-husband into coming outside.

Police say that prior to the shooting, the victim "received a food delivery he didn't request." Rice had apparently ordered pizza and put her ex's house as the address.

After opening the door, he was shot nearly 20 times by an assailant that investigators claim was Rice.

You can see the shooting take place here — specifically the moment in which the shooter sneaks up and opens fire:

(You gotta love the pizza delivery guy high-tailing it the heck outta there afterwards.)

Mercifully, the ex survived the shooting.

Police said the ex "did not order the pizza, which led detectives to believe the shooting was premeditated."

Dallas Police Det. Michael Bui said the violent ruse was a unique one:

Bui said this is the first incident he's seen where an ex-spouse carried out an alleged shooting like this.

Glad the dude survived. No word on what happened to that pizza though.
