A scenic view at the end of a beautiful hike up Mount Kearsarge, New Hampshire, is the perfect spot for a proposal.

Unfortunately for Tim Dupere, his well-laid plans took a tumble when his intended, Alexis Hardy, suffered a lower-leg injury during their hike up the mountain before they made it to his planned proposal spot.

Hardy was unable to walk back on her own, so rescuers from the Warner Fire Department and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department were called in to stabilize her injured leg and load her onto a stretcher to be carried down the mountain.

Once she was situated, Dupere decided not to let the moment go to waste, and went ahead and proposed, despite the less-than-ideal surroundings.

She said yes!

Thankfully her ring finger was uninjured, as she had a very nice rock to take home from that hike.

Rescuers then brought Hardy safely down the mountain where they were met by an ambulance to take her to the hospital to treat her injuries.

Here's the whole crew after the engagement.

The Fish and Game Department wished the happy couple the best in a press release, stating,

New Hampshire Fish and Game would like to congratulate Alexis Hardy and Tim Dupere on their engagement!

I thought this writeup from the Fish and Game Department was cool, so I'll leave it here:
