Just a little caveat here: These cops are from California, so don't let this surprise you much.
This happened out in Pasadena back on September 7, 2025, but the footage is just now being released.
Police Chief Gene Harris, in the understatement of the year, called this "unsafe and out-of-policy horseplay involving loaded firearms." He promised "disciplinary measures" were taken.
Wow, thanks, Chief!
The injured officer has recovered, so at least there's that. I'm just glad he seems to be a white guy, or else we'd be hearing about the racism of this incident for weeks.
The investigation is ongoing, but we still don't know if the officers were placed on leave or not. At The Southern California Circus, anything could happen here.
We could get no coverage out of this (because it's embarrassing), or we could get a week of defund-the-police propaganda.
