Elliot Sudal was angling off a beach in Nantucket, Massachusetts, on June 7 when he got the catch of a lifetime.
A great white shark took his bait.
Great whites are a protected species, so Sudal did the only thing he could do in the situation. He wrangled the monster into shore, jumped on top of it, used pliers to pull the hook out of its mouth, and then set it free.

More from the NYP:
Sudal said it was the first great white he's caught after 13 years in Nantucket.
'Caught 1000-plus sandbars [sandbar sharks] and hundreds of duskys [dusky sharks] off the beach, tagged most of them along the way,' he told the Current. 'By no means was targeting that white, you can't control what picks up your bait.'
Sudal, who had been fishing with his apprentice and another fellow fisherman, said he decided to post the video of the catch online because he feels like he 'did everything right in that situation.'
'Shark was in the surf, removed the hook and sent her back to sea in about 15 seconds,' he said.
Followed quickly by Chief Brody screaming at the swimmers to "get out of the water!"
