The boys in blue saved AT LEAST one life here, and by that I mean the number of people this man would've hurt had he jumped could've very well ended with another lost life.
Officer Richardson isn't just a cop. He's got 30 years of ministry under his belt too. And that's why his fellow officers sought him out when he was simply directing traffic on the bridge.
Turns out, that experience saved a man's life on April 12. They had talked to him for at least 40 minutes.
From the local NBC outlet:
After nearly an hour, the man reached out and took Richardson's hand — a moment the officer described as unforgettable.
'I remember reaching out my hand toward him, and at first, he was reluctant and kept looking like he wanted to jump. I kept saying, "Come on man, don't do it," and he finally turned and reached his hand toward me. That was a magical moment,' said Richardson.

No word yet on whether Richardson and the man have talked since the incident, but it would be beautiful if the man started attending Richardson's New Life Evangelistic Center on Sundays.
