You may recall that Vivek lost a lot of good grace in December 2024 with a post about how Americans have "venerated mediocrity over excellence" by watching too much "Saved by the Bell" (I'm paraphrasing πŸ˜‚). Vivek, an Indian-American, has also tried to compare his Hindu beliefs to Christianity, and has promoted deeply unpopular policies such as H-1B migration and data centers.

Even the son of Nikki Haley, herself an Indian-American, torched Vivek for wanting to "replace Americans and American workers with foreigners."

He is now the GOP nominee for Ohio governor.

The state has been overrun by an influx of migrants (Haitians surging into small towns like Springfield, Indians and Somalis surging into big cities like Columbus), and the current Republican governor has defended the mass migration as recently as this week.

His Democrat opponent, Amy Acton, is running as a moderate in a conservative-but-frustrated Midwest state, and she isn't wasting her time cashing in on that frustration. πŸ‘‡

While the gamblers over at Polymarket say Vivek's odds are better, almost every other poll (albeit from leftwing media) shows him losing to Acton at the moment:

The question for the midterms:

Why are Republicans running a guy who gets booed at conservative conventions for one of the most essential swing states in the nation?
