From WJLA in Arlington:

7News confirmed that a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the stairwell of an Arlington parking garage is in the country illegally.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis told 7News Reporter Nick Minock that Cristobal Liobardo Vasquez-Sanchez is from El Salvador and had prior charges for rape, sexual assault, property damage, drug possession, and larceny.

Despite a previous run-in with the law in April 2025 for property damage, Vasquez-Sanchez was dumped back out onto the streets to do even worse things.

Bis said that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer and arrest warrant for Vasquez-Sanchez on May 25, 2026, after a charge for property damage on April 22, 2025.

'Sanctuary politicians released this criminal from jail back into Virginia communities. Vasquez-Sanchez then went on to rack up charges for rape and sexual assault,' Bis told 7News.

Earlier this month, the Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) arrested 25-year-old Vasquez-Sanchez and charged him with sexual battery and attempted object sexual penetration.

Chalk up another resounding victory for the anti-ICE, pro-criminal Left.

Vasquez-Sanchez currently (and thankfully) remains in custody awaiting court. But will they hold him for ICE?

How many more people will suffer because of criminals being allowed to roam free in blue states?
