Michigan agrees to obey permanent court order that blocks Whitmer's ban on so-called "conversion therapy”

Chalk up another major L for the Ice Queen!

The Thomas Becket Society has won a major victory over the LGBTQ mob headed up by Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan. A ban on so-called "conversion therapy" (telling boys they're boys and girls they're girls) has been reversed after a court order.

Here's the statement from Becket on the landmark legal victory for Christian (and sane) therapists:

In a groundbreaking victory for religious liberty and free speech, Becket has secured a permanent order barring Michigan from enforcing its law that punished counselors who provide compassionate talk therapy to children struggling with their biological sex. Rather than continue defending the law in court, Michigan agreed that its counseling ban is unconstitutional as applied to any licensed professional who engages in therapy that consists exclusively of talking.

'This is a major victory for children, counselors, and common sense,' said Luke Goodrich, senior counsel at Becket and lead attorney for the counselors. 'Kids who are hurting deserve compassion, not a one-way ticket to harmful drugs, hormones, and surgery. Now counselors can offer compassionate counseling without fearing that state bureaucrats will come knocking.'

Yeah, there had to be a lawsuit in Michigan to protect the licenses of therapists who insist that boys can't become girls!

This is the lunatic lefty world we're living in.

Under Democrats' House Bills 4616 and 4617 in Michigan and House Bill 19-1172 in Colorado — which defined 'conversion therapy' as efforts to "change an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity" — psychiatrists and mental health care providers who failed to indulge delusions or affirm homosexual inclination could face disciplinary actions, lose their licenses, and/or receive enormous fines.

Free speech that aligns with reality is legal in the state of Michigan.
