Omar still faces allegations for a variety of shady dealings, including immigration fraud (marrying her brother to get him into the U.S.) and the massive fraud scams linked to the Somali population of Minnesota (such as the "Quality Learing Center").
Despite these allegations (or, perhaps, because of them), she's now been named the "Global Somali Person of the Year."
