I love the PIT maneuver, but this is the first time I've ever seen a driver try to shoot an officer in the middle of one.

Bro almost took a bullet!
On May 7, Boone County authorities were investigating a homicide when they located the suspect. A pursuit kicked off, and Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. Brandon Harris joined in to assist. That bodycam and dashcam footage, released this week, shows Harris pulling off the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver and almost being shot.
According to ABC 7 Chicago:
A Missouri State Highway Patrol corporal was attempting a PIT maneuver on a suspect who was wanted for allegedly shooting two people, killing one. While the cars were spinning, the suspect fired several times at the patrol car, with at least one round piercing the window. The patrol corporal was not injured. The suspect was found soon after dead in his vehicle, from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot, police said.
I suppose when you're chasing down a suicidal murderer, you gotta be on the lookout for stuff like this.
Fortunate that Harris didn't get hit, and walked away with only minor injuries from flying glass.
What would be even more fortunate is if we started respecting police for the things that they do instead of complaining about them all the time.
