You've heard of pregaming when it comes to college parties, but have you heard of being a full-on adult and having a roadie on the way to the concert and then having one in the parking lot, and another as you walk in?

Yeah, with $20 beers inside the venue, you betcha I'm gonna pregame and only drink from the water fountain once I get inside!

Things are still getting expensive, especially since we got that, uhh ... operation thingy going on in Iran. So people are adapting.

From the article:

Many have cut out alcohol altogether. For those who still crave a cocktail, they're entering a flashback era of 'pregaming,' downing a few drinks at home before going out to keep from spending much more to get the same buzz.

Nearly a third of the 1,000 people surveyed by Zappi who had drinks within the last three months said they now predrink to avoid paying higher prices at venues.

What's more, plenty of folks are sneaking pocket shots into these places too. And here's why 👇

The average price of a cocktail in America is now $13.61, according to the market-research firm Technomic. In places like New York City, it's much higher.

👀

Essentially, during your pregame (or your swig of that pocket shot) you can have four drinks for the price of one in comparison to the venue prices.

Though this pregaming thing is nothing new, the trend seems to be growing - and that's a sign that either things are getting expensive, people are getting creative, or, well, both.

And it's not just a theory on those pocket shots.

Suntory Global Spirits is seeing higher demand for its nips of Jim Beam and Maker's Mark, said Chief Executive Greg Hughes.

So if you don't want to spend more on alcohol at the show than you did on the ticket, go ahead and do some pregaming or sneak in some pocket shots.

Or, if you're willing to become a better person and stop being a bum, just stop drinking altogether.
