If you recall, a few years ago Red Lobster offered a bottomless shrimp deal to get customers through the door. The problem was that certain, uh, socioeconomic factors showed up en masse to abuse the promotion. Restaurants run these offers knowing they will lose money, but they plan to make up that loss by 1) increasing customer volume and 2) selling additional food and drinks.

In Red Lobster's case, they lost $11 million in one year, which was the last straw for the company financially. The chain has shut down 99 locations in 28 states in the last two years.

The restaurant quickly clarified that the $9.99 number is for their "base tier" of appetizers, with $12.99 for their "premium tier" (nothing you order at Buffalo Wild Wings should be legal to call "premium").

Those prices are good for 4 people, with $2.99 added per person after that. This means if you show up with 30 of your closest friends, you could still get an unlimited meal for less than $100!

To be fair to the company, it ran this promo last year and its finances stayed mostly flat (revenue up 1.2% year-over year, with slight net unit shrinkage in 2025 as 5 more restaurants closed than opened). The company is also seeing growth in its takeout expansion, called BWW Go.

With that said ... good luck, Bdubs! 😭
