I love the bolded text shared by this gentleman:
This journalist, Jack Grove for the Times Higher Education, had emailed far-left Cambridge Professor Jason Arday about the growing accusations regarding the academic's plagiarism.
Even The New York Times, a former newspaper, had to admit the squeamish truth as it tried to smear a veneer of sugary icing over the poop cake:
The claims seem to have serious validity - enough that Cambridge is now investigating.
(I'm not holding my breath, however, considering that Cambridge previously cleared the ultra-woke DEI hire of plagiarism once prior to this.)
Instead of answering the journalist's questions to prove the rigor and fortitude of his academic work, Arday went and tattled to the police, who immediately told the journalist that he needed to back off with all that journalism because it was having a negative effect on the plagiarist's mental health.
Mr Grove had started looking into Prof Arday's background after being tipped off by academics who had found apparent evidence of plagiarism in his work.
He emailed Prof Arday and Cambridge University, as well as Liverpool John Moores University - which had awarded him his PhD - to ask questions about the apparent overlap with another student's PhD. He also asked questions about Prof Arday's claims of raising £5.5m for charity through seemingly improbable feats of ultra-distance running.

That prompted the letter from Carter-Ruck in September last year, and in November last year a formal complaint of harassment was made to the police. Mr Grove has never been told who made the complaint.
The university denied it was them.
Because duh!
The Telegraph also includes this zinger:
[London's Metropolitan Police] is among forces that have been accused in recent months of wasting time on pointless investigations while insisting that they do not have the manpower to routinely attend burglaries and other crimes.
Since the purpose of a system is what it does, it seems the purpose of the UK's justice system is to ensure you can't ask criminals questions about their criminal behavior because it might hurt the criminals' feelings.
George Orwell himself could not have conceived of a British dystopia this stupid.
