Peter Mossfield is a bad influence(r). He first tried to gain fame by attempting to become an alcoholic and then show everyone how easy it is to quit.

The first part of that plan went off without a hitch; at his height, he was consuming up to 24 drinks per day. The second part of the plan?

Well that's a whole different story.

Mossfield's next big attempt to get famous was a novel fitness routine: Take steroids, drink lots of alcohol, and don't work out.

And after destroying his body with that alcohol and the steroids — but also losing some fat content — he decided to enter a bodybuilding competition.

It went pretty much the way you'd expect:

Yep, the guy got dead last.

But not for the reason you might expect.

Generation Iron reports,

After prejudging, however, there were several hours before the evening finals.

Mossfield says he used that time to drink.

He claimed his alcohol tolerance had fallen because he had been drinking less during the final weeks of his bodybuilding prep. According to Mossfield, he had averaged fewer than 12 drinks per day over the previous four weeks.

‘I kinda lost track of time,' he admitted.

By the time he realized what had happened, Mossfield says he had missed the finals and individual posing portion of the competition.

A drunk missing the competition because he lost track of time...

Who knows how well he would have done if he hadn't gotten drunk and missed the finals, but one thing is for certain, part two of Mossfield's plan of quitting alcohol is still a work in progress.
