According to body camera video and an arrest affidavit obtained by local outlet WOFL, a deputy found two cars that appeared to be street racing at around 11:40 p.m. on June 12. One was a red Corvette travelling at around 125 miles per hour, and the other was a gray Nissan sports car travelling at 110 miles per hour, authorities said.
The officer turned on his lights and pulled over the gray sports car, which was driven by 85-year-old William Bosworth, police said.
Bosworth was arrested and charged with speed racing, even though he maintained that he wasn't racing, he was just trying to get away from the other driver who "swerved" at him.
(Officers didn't buy the excuse.)
