Op-ed: A message to the useful idiots on the streets of Minneapolis

You aren't changing history.

You aren't making a difference.

You aren't fighting against the rise of fascism.

You are fools with cameras, and history will laugh at you.

Deporting foreign criminals, many of whom have convictions for past crimes (including child rape and murder), has always been the jurisdiction of the Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

These agencies have existed for decades and were used by every past president, including your favorite ones.

The only thing that's changed is the messaging, and you have fallen for it.

You aren't freedom fighters. You are useful idiots. You are pawns in an information war that stalls and changes political policy by shaping public perception. The aim of that war is for the politicians to amass more power at your expense, but you don't see it.

There are real consequences to people believing the propaganda. Useful idiots are creating confusion and disorder everywhere:

Even when you do manage to correctly identify a federal deportation operation, you turn out with your expensive iPhones and Starbucks lattes to block agents from arresting rapists from Honduras, Somalia, and Pakistan, believing you are just like the French Resistance against the Third Reich.

But understand this: Half of America thinks you are the bad guys. Take me, for example. I'm a freedom-loving American, probably just like you. I speak out when I see government agents abusing the Constitution. I am a fan of the Second Amendment as inoculation against tyranny. I don't like stormtroopers.

I despise Nazism and all its modern variants as much as I do other braindead ideologies, like communism.

I want everyone to have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I want to be welcoming, compassionate, and loving to my neighbors of all backgrounds.

But I'm not a useful idiot who goes and fights federal agents conducting arrests because someone on CNN or Reddit told me the U.S. president is Literally Hitler.

When Biden was arresting pro-life dads with armed raids or using the FBI to pressure Facebook to censor conservatives, I didn't call for violence in the streets. I spent time on informing people of what was happening and encouraging them to take peaceful means to hold the government accountable.

Violence is a last resort - one that should only happen when there is no peaceful solution, but it "becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another."

Sometimes, violence is the answer, but you use it as the only answer.

• You are totally ignorant of how the world works.

• You are completely oblivious to the efforts it takes to make sure your home is warmed, your water is clean, your food is abundant, and your streets are safe.

• You have no charity, no tolerance, no wisdom.

• You are a people without understanding.

As the Apostle Paul might say,

...full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

You label your fellow countrymen like me Nazis with hearts full of hate!

And yet I don't hate you. I rather wish you would come to your senses, to be saved from this clownish possession that's grabbed your soul before it's too late.

Today, while you're foaming at the mouth over Donald Trump, a real estate mogul who had a cameo in "Home Alone 2," there are powerful people in the shadows that are working to bankrupt you, enslave you, and replace you. "All have fallen and gone astray," but some people truly are devils.

But you can't see that. Your tunnel vision doesn't allow it. You can't have a grown-up conversation about policy where we can talk about where we agree and disagree with Trump (and I do disagree with Trump on more than a few things!!).

Instead, you go wherever the winds blow ... and the wind often echoes inside the empty space you call a head.
