You will live long enough to see man-made horrors beyond your comprehension.

A long, long time ago, if a white couple ended up birthing a brown baby, folks might have asked some awkward questions. Today, it's just another day in the wild, wild world of IVF wizardry.

Yes, they sued the Fertility Center of Orlando.

To be clear: Tiffany Score and Steven Mills had a child that is not related to either of them. A baby made with another man's sperm and another woman's egg was placed inside Tiffany Score and she brought that baby to term inside her own womb, essentially serving as a surrogate.

Despite contacting the biological parents of baby Shea, they've decided to keep her.

From NBC News:

The suit prompted a search for the couple whose embryo had been mistakenly implanted into Score and, in April, attorneys for Score and Mills announced that Shea's biological parents had been found. Identified in court documents only as Patient 004, the biological parents' names have been kept confidential.

In a court filing Friday, the attorney for Score and Mills, Mara Hatfield, wrote that her clients and Patient 004 had 'come to a mutually devised custody agreement' that recognizes Score and Mills' rights as the 'permanent custodial parents of their daughter.' No additional details were provided.

In a statement, the couple said they're committed to respecting the biological parents' privacy and even plan to foster a "relationship of friendship and trust." Which is nice, I guess. Because nothing bonds two families quite like a fertility clinic giving your baby to another couple and then them keeping it after it comes out?

The real question? What about Shea? Was this decision made for her good, or the adults who don't know how to handle this sci-fi horror?

Score and Mills have repeatedly emphasized their intense bond with Shea, formed during pregnancy and birth. They said:

Only one thing is as absolutely certain today as it was on the day our daughter was born, we will love and will be this child's parents forever ... We love our little girl, and if possible, we would hope to be able to continue to raise her ourselves with confidence that she won't be taken away from us.

Still, you have to wonder about the biological parents on the other side, as well as the couple's own embryos, which are apparently still floating around in limbo somewhere.

Then there's the question of how many times these switch-ups...
