Liberal commenters compared the Democratic Party's post to Republican attacks on Biden regarding the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. In that case, 13 troops died because of a total lack of planning and competency from leadership. Billions of dollars in high-tech military equipment were left behind. The Taliban reconquered the nation within days.

Comparing their deaths to the sacrifice of troops in Iran, especially given the lengths the Trump administration has gone to recover downed pilots, is not comparing apples to apples.

It's also important to note that the official GOP account did not, and I'm going to say this slowly for the kids in the back, use Memorial Day as an opportunity to use sacred deaths to score political points.
