Just when you thought we'd heard the worst about Graham Platner, he manages to be even more awful.

Wait, you mean his Nazi tattoo, his hate-spewing on social media, his gross sexual remarks, and his sexting were NOT the end of the scandals??

Much more, apparently.

CNN had a good summary of The New York Times' new article.

The report, which is based on interviews with six women who previously dated Platner, comes amid intensified scrutiny of his candidacy and raises new questions about the viability of a candidate who has become his party's presumptive nominee against Republican Sen. Susan Collins.

Not all of the women who spoke to the New York Times described troubling behavior from Platner. But three of them described volatile and 'toxic' relationships, including allegations of heavy drinking, infidelity, demeaning behavior toward women and, in one account, physical intimidation.

Oh, and then there was ... this. 👇

Yes, Platner told his girlfriend in 2013-2016, Lyndsey Fifield, that he would rape anyone who broke into his house, but "not in a gay way." He just wanted to rape them to show that he was "dominant."

Immediately after that, The Times says this:

Asked about those remarks, a Platner campaign official did not dispute them. A friend who knew Mr. Platner and Ms. Fifield during that period said the comments sounded out of character.

Mr. Platner, who had overlapping relationships with other women while he and Ms. Fifield dated, also referred to women as 'hatchet wounds,' Ms. Fifield said, a crude term for female anatomy.

What. A. Guy.

Oh yeah, and about the Nazi tattoo? He knew it was a Nazi tattoo.

Platner, of course, vehemently denied the accusations in a statement released after the story broke:

'Throughout this campaign, I've been open about what was a very dark period of my life where I struggled with undiagnosed PTSD, too often self-medicated with alcohol, and was a far from perfect boyfriend,' Platner said in the statement. 'I take responsibility for all of that, and wish I had been better. Any characterization beyond that is false, and I believe, politically motivated. I'm not proud of who I was then, but I am proud of the work I've done since, and the movement we are building in Maine.'

Okay, but this is a race for U.S. Senate, Graham. Maybe the drunken, abusive Nazi guy (who may have just lied to us all about said Nazi tattoo) shouldn't be in Congress?

As with the other hideous scandals, Platner is refusing to drop out of the race.

'It has never crossed our mind to drop out of this thing,' Platner said in an interview with MS NOW on Thursday evening, referring to him and his wife, Amy. 'I am fully committed to this till the end.'

Anyone want to place bets on what the next terrible scandal to engulf Platner will be?
