Many, many lesser men have folded to even less pressure than this. Like everyone who's used the wrong pronoun on purpose. Or anyone who publicly pretended that a "he" is a "she" in offices all the way to the Supreme Court.
It's common sense, but five years ago her team would probably have sidelined her.
