If you'll remember, Brown appeared to have assaulted a convenience store clerk the day he was shot. Oh, and also, forensic evidence suggests that Brown assaulted Officer Darren Wilson before Wilson shot him. This is probably why Obama's DOJ declined to press criminal charges against Officer Wilson.
The whole "Hands up, don't shoot" thing was just a mantra based on a false narrative. However, it did get the BLM movement rolling, which has led to the racial fracturing of the U.S. and tens of billions of dollars in damage to public property.
