Netherlands kills child "under the age of 12" for the first time via assisted "suicide"

Up until about two years ago, it was illegal in the Netherlands to euthanize a child that wasn't a newborn and was younger than twelve.

That's a real, true sentence that I just wrote.

But now:

From the article:

For the first time since a change in the law in the Netherlands, a child under the age of 12 has died by euthanasia.

The death of the child was confirmed by the country's health minister, Sophie Hermans, as she presented the annual report by the committee that reviews all late-term abortions and medically-assisted deaths of children to parliament on Monday.

The child was "seriously ill," had "no chance of recovery," and was apparently suffering "unbearably." Parents were consulted, of course, because this is required.

The case is now with prosecutors to make sure everyone dotted the i's and crossed the t's on the paperwork.

Bureaucracy first, kids second!

The Netherlands legalized euthanasia for adults back in 2002 and has been steadily expanding the club ever since.

Newborns? Sure.

Over 12? Absolutely.

But 1-to-12-year-olds? They had to update the rules in 2024 because apparently, the previous version wasn't inclusive enough.

So now they're killing kids of all ages!

Remember when this government-approved euthanasia thing was going to be rare?

Well, there's a reason they call themselves "progressives," folks!
