I love this so much!
They put up around 450 signs at an estimated $500 per sign. This means they likely spent $250,000 putting up signs that mean absolutely nothing.
🤣🤣🤣
This is all part of Mayor Karen Bass' Directive 17 signed earlier this year. She's still mad that ICE came to town last year and deported illegals.
Here's what United States attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli, had to say about the signs via Fox 11:
'I just think this whole thing is silly. The signs have no legal weight, force or effect on anything the federal government does,' said Bill Essayli. 'Federal agents will go anywhere they need to go to enforce federal law, including city property.'
When asked directly whether the signs would stop federal immigration enforcement, Essayli responded, 'No. Not at all. They're null and void. They mean nothing to us.'
They left out the last bit where Essayli says, "And I look forward to [Karen Bass] trying to enforce them," which is honestly true for all of us.
We'll meet you right back here to mock Mayor Bass when that time comes.
