I don't know if I'd go 19 miles out of my way to avoid this perfectly passable downed bridge.

Look, we all hate detours. GPS reroutes you through three counties, adding 45 minutes to your commute while you continually punch the steering wheel.
But most of us draw the line somewhere short of "daily game of Russian roulette with a sagging concrete death trap."
Well, not the Greeks (or at least some of them who live in Larissa).
From NYP:
Motorists navigate the crumpled Palaiopyrgos Bridge just to avoid taking a detour that could add another 19 miles onto journeys, the Greek outlet Skai reports.
The Palaiopyrgos Bridge is located above the Pineios River and connects the villages of Palaiopyrgos and Alexandrini in Larissa, but it has been buckling for around three years because of the effects of Storm Daniel.
Oh, that pesky Daniel!
As you can see above, the thing is visibly crumpled in the middle. It's technically out of service. But, uhh, locals keep driving over it like it's the Autobahn or something.
Here's what one local had to say about the 19-mile detour:
What should we do? Should we go all the way around? Where should we go? Nothing can be done.
We play with death every day.
A modern-day Odysseus if I've ever seen one!
