Pardon me while I toss my cookies.
From WCNC in Charlotte:
The witness said he pulled up to the store Friday around 9:15 p.m. and saw what he described as 'hair play' underway. He said he watched briefly, recorded part of the interaction on his phone, then went inside.
The witness said he told the employees the behavior was unsanitary, and the employee doing the hair styling responded, 'Do you see me cooking?' He said he then asked whether the store had any soft chocolate chip cookies, and the same employee told him none were fresh. The witness said he left without ordering.
Did he leave because there were no fresh cookies, or because he wasn't in the mood for dandruff and hairspray with his dessert?
The grossed-out customer immediately contacted Crumbl. The cookie chain, to its credit, took swift action and issued a subsequent public statement:
'We are aware of the video circulating on social media showing inappropriate employee behavior at one of our stores.
The conduct shown is unacceptable and does not reflect Crumbl's standards. Upon learning of the incident, we immediately closed the store, discarded all dough on site, brought in a professional cleaning crew, and took appropriate action with the employees involved.
We hold every location to strict health and safety policies, and we take violations seriously when they occur.'
While there were no details as to what "appropriate action" was taken with the employees, it has been made known that they are no longer working at the bakery.
