Another day, another ban in the UK.
Lots of parents don't let their kids use social media until they are 16 or older. The internet is a cesspool of mankind's total depravity. It reeks to high heaven.
That being said, is it the government's place to legally ban it?
Weird, I don't recall Starmer talking this way about rape gangs!
Anyway, the British government is only banning 10 apps, according to the Daily Sceptic:
The 10 social media apps under-16s will be banned from are:
X
TikTok
YouTube
Snapchat
Twitch
Kick
Threads
You notice any app missing?
The plan will not go into effect until next spring, at which time the list could be modified.
Starmer's leftwing government plans to follow the lead of the tyrannical, censorship-happy Australians, who have banned all rightwing social media but left leftwing apps like Bluesky open for kids.
(Interesting, huh?)
People had thoughts π
The ban does not apply to messaging apps like Signal and WhatsApp.
Oh, and unless VPNs are banned, it is expected that teens will learn how to circumvent the ban in about five seconds.
But you gotta love how the British government considers Orwell's 1984 a "how-to" guide!
