You do not understand how this makes Wisconsinites feel.

It's possible that I'm crying. Culver's isn't just fast food, it's a way of life.

Mackenzie Davis with the truth 👇

The bright blue landmark, located about an hour from the original Culver's in Sauk City, proudly proclaimed gratitude to the farmers of the Midwest from the side of US-151. And it didn't just fall, it got absolutely yeeted by Wednesday's storms after already taking a beating from a tornado back in April. Winds screaming over 85 mph finished what the twister started, turning a decade-plus symbol of dairy appreciation into a pile of rubbish.

The barn's owner, Michael Zimmerman, who's had the place since 1976, was home when it happened. He had plans to repaint it in July; instead, he's now contemplating how to get "back to the same place we were," whatever that means.

Let's hope that means our state's favorite monument will be built back butter!

Culver's launched the Thank You Farmers Project back in 2013, painting barns across the heartland in that unmistakable shade of blue. This one in Beaver Dam was a genuine roadside icon — the kind of wholesome Americana that makes you crave a Concrete Mixer just driving by. There are still a few others out there (Mineral Point, and a few in Indiana and Illinois), but the Beaver Dam sentinel is now officially a memory.

If the Beaver Dam barn does get rebuilt, I want to see ButterBurgers served to the crew for lunch every day. Fries too.

Oh, and don't forget the cheese curds.
