"An admission of guilt": James Comey had some interesting thoughts on those who accepted preemptive pardons from Biden

Remember that time that the autopen preemptively pardoned a bunch of Biden allies?

Notice James Comey, who has been indicted by Trump's DOJ twice now, didn't make the cut. I suppose it doesn't matter, though, because he wouldn't have accepted a pardon.

Here's why 👇

From Burdick v. United States (1914)

There are substantial differences between legislative immunity and a pardon; the latter carries an imputation of guilt and acceptance is a confession of it, while the former is non-committal and tantamount to silence of the witness.

Because the Supreme Court precedent is that pardons carry guilt, Comey says he would've never accepted one. This, again, a guy who's been indicted twice by Trump!

I'll let Comey's words play us out here.

By accepting a pardon, it's an admission of guilt, and so I hope they thought about it carefully.
