She even rejected the idea that someone can become a New Yorker after 50 years!!

Lopez: I have to say no. You live in New York, you take on characteristics of New York probably by that time. You have a New York sensibility … when you're born in New York is when you're really a New Yorker.

In 2018, she talked about America being enriched by diversity.
