This is a pretty wild scene out of Vancouver and somehow the driver of this motorcycle only suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
According to authorities, a speeding motorcycle rider launched himself into a Vancouver intersection Saturday afternoon, hit a car, and had his bike yeeted up onto a traffic light pole.
No, for real!
From CTV News:
Officers were called to the intersection of Scott Road and 71st Avenue for reports of a crash between a car and a motorcycle around 3 p.m., the Delta Police Department said in a statement.
'The motorcycle rider sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries,' police said, in the statement.
'Speed is believed to be a contributing factor.'
I love how we're just going with "speed is believed to be a factor," as if there's not eyewitness testimony, street cam footage, or, you know, a motorcycle hanging from the traffic light pole.
It's just "believed to be a factor."
Here's the vid:
Crazy that both the motorcyclist and the other driver are fine. You'd think with a scene like that there'd be a dead body somewhere.
I'll take a wild guess that this motorcyclist is going to slow it down in the future - unless, of course, there's no parking downtown and the only available spot is on the traffic light pole.
