Hola, Venezuela, are you ready to be the 51st state?
According to Trump himself back in April, he is "polling higher than anyone has ever polled in Venezuela," so you can see why he would want to make this move (because he's "polling better than anyone has ever polled in Venezuela").
This announcement comes four months after Nicolas Maduro was captured by the U.S. Fox cited Venezuela's massive $40 trillion in oil reserves as a pretty compelling reason for Trump floating this idea, but an idea it shall remain.
You may have noticed that Trump likes to do this kind of thing to get a rile out of his political opponents. Despite the fact that he does this weekly, it still makes said opponents seethe with rage.
