Another Democrat stealing money from the government?
That's Fay Beydoun, a prominent businesswoman and longtime donor to Whitmer and other Democrats. She's not only donated to Whitmer, but she actually hosted a fundraiser at Whitmer's home.
She has now been hit with 16 felonies for allegedly treating a $20-million state budget earmark like her personal Amazon wishlist.
Not joking. She got the money while she worked at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation - $20 million worth.

The AG alleges that Beydoun forged an invoice from a law firm and used it for grant administration through the MEDC, presented a false description of a lease to the MEDC totaling over $40,000 and used grant funds for personal expenses, including $6,000 worth of rugs, $1000-2000 in catering costs, $5,000 worth of furniture and $1,400 worth of patio and gardening supplies.
AG Dana Nessel writes, "The process by which this βgrant' was proposed, developed, awarded, and administered bears practically zero semblance to the traditional grant process, and was only made possible through a system that pairs political cronyism with minimal oversight."
Sounds like Beydoun was doing what any normal Democrat would do if faced with a government grant: Find a way to steal it.

One count of Conducting a Criminal Enterprise, a 20-year felony
Seven counts of Uttering and Publishing, a 14-year felony
One count of Forgery, a 14-year felony
One count of Larceny by Conversion, more than $20,000, a 10-year felony
Six counts of Larceny by Conversion, $1,000 to $20,000, a 5-year felony
